League One Betting Review

The 2012/13 League One Season kicks off tomorrow ( Saturday 18th August ) with what many see as a slightly weaker League for this year after last season’s Promotion and Relegation issues . Many pundits fancy last season’s beaten Play Off finalists Sheffield United to be strong favourites to win League One although Blades fans will be wary of Manager Danny Wilson’s previous history of one good season followed by a bad one ( Bristol City and Swindon fans are currently nodding in agreement…. ).

So what do the bookies think ?

Sheffield United are indeed the bookies favourites at 11/2 generally with one bookie Stan James offering a slightly more favourable 6/1.

Second favourites are MK Dons – strong contenders last year and sure to feature again this season – offered at 13/2 but slightly more generous 7/1 with BoyleSports and Paddy Power.

Third favourites are last year’s League Two champions Swindon – manager Paolo Di Canio had added to his squad in the close season and pundits expect Swindon to put in a strong challenge this year especially after their 3-0 mid week Capital One Cup win over Brighton . Swindon are available at 8/1 with most bookies but a slightly better 9/1 with Paddy Power and BetVictor.

Fourth and fifth in the betting are Preston North End and Coventry – both at 11/1 across the board and both going through a rebuilding exercise.

Next in the betting to win the title are Bournemouth at 12/1 generally and Brentford at 14/1 ( 16/1 with BetVictor).

The LiveFootballScores team feel that the value bet in this League is with a team not mentioned previously – Doncaster Rovers . Manager Dean Saunders has strengthened his team with the addition of McCombe and Paynter – an on form and interested Billy Paynter will score goals with ease in this division and as such Donny at odds of 16/1 with Stan James are definitely worth a consideration as an each way bet.

It looks like being a great season in League One – don’t forget to follow the live scores at the LiveFootballScores site !
