Capital One Cup – Betting Review

With the League Cup – this season entitled the Capital One Cup entering the Second Round stage tonight the competition starts to become interesting as the Second Round sees the arrival of the “big boys” with some interesting ties to be played over the next two nights.

This competition often throws up a surprise package with some teams from the “wrong end ” of the Premiership and the top of the Championship doing well due to the often weakened teams fielded by the “Big Four” who have other issues such as Champions League games to distract them.

So for a punter the League Cup is definitely worth a small each way wager at this stage of the competition in the “Overall Winner ” market.

Who do the bookies think will be the eventual winners ?

Favourites to win the competition across the board are current Premiership Champions Manchester City at 6/1 with all the bookies.

Second favourites are Chelsea at 8/1 with most bookies , a slightly more generous 9/1 with Boylesports.

Third , Fourth and Fifth in the market are , not surprisingly Manchester United , Liverpool and Arsenal – all at 9/1 with a slightly more generous 10/1 with Coral for Arsenal.

Next comes Tottenham at 10/1 , Everton at 14/1 and Newcastle at 14/1 ( 16/1 with Paddy Power )

With the excellent start that they have had in the Premiership 14/1 for Everton doesn’t look too shabby but there is more value to be had as you look further out in the betting .

Sunderland are available at 20/1 generally but 25/1 currently with Bet365  , Fulham are also available at 33/1 generally but 40/1 with Bet365.

The real scope for a “cheeky one” lies with the contenders from the Championship – Championship teams have done very well in this competition in the past few years so surely an each way punt on a good championship side is worth consideration.

The LiveFootballScores team like the look of Bolton at 80/1 generally but 100/1 with BoyleSports ,Bet365 and Stan James and Leicester at 80/1 generally but a more generous 100/1 with BoyleSports and BetVictor.
